How to Change the Default Download Folder in Chrome Firefox

Usually, most browsers including Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Opera would store users’ downloads in user profile Downloads folder. However, as a matter of fact, you can choose any location to store the downloads by modifying the browser default settings. Now, let’s see how to alter the settings to choose a prefer location to store your downloads.

For Mozilla Firefox users

Step 1: launch your web browser and go to Tools and click Options

Step 2: Go to General tab and click the Browse button

Step 3: Choose the location you want and click Select Folder

For Google Chrome users

Step 1: click the Customize button of Google Chrome

Step 2: Choose Settings from the dropped menu

Step 3: Click Show advanced settings, which is on the bottom of the browser window

Step 4: Search for the location of Download text box and click Change button

Step 5: Select other folder to store your downloads and click OK.
