How to Hide Library Folders in My Computer in Windows 8.1

Usually, Windows 8 provide a quick access to the Library folders like Documents, Pictures, Apps, Musics, which often appear on the left pane of My Computer. But, if you use Windows 8.1, you will see that their locations have been put on the top of Drivers and devices. Though there is an option to disable them, you can remove them from their place completely if you wish. Now this guide shows you how to perform this.

Step 1: Hit Windows+R keys together to get the Run box.

Step 2: Input “regedit” and click OK to get into the registry editor

Step 3: Now please navigate to this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace

Step 4: Search for the subkeys in the following and delete all of them

Desktop Folder – {B4BFCC3A-DB2C-424C-B029-7FE99A87C641}

Documents Folder – {A8CDFF1C-4878-43be-B5FD-F8091C1C60D0}
Downloads Folder – {374DE290-123F-4565-9164-39C4925E467B}

Music Folder – {1CF1260C-4DD0-4ebb-811F-33C572699FDE}

Pictures Folder – {3ADD1653-EB32-4cb0-BBD7-DFA0ABB5ACCA}

Videos Folder – {A0953C92-50DC-43bf-BE83-3742FED03C9C}

Step 5: When you finish the above steps, you can close registry and go back to My Computer to check the efficiency.
