How To Start Windows 7 in Safe Mode

Published June 4, 2014 by Admin

Safe mode is a troubleshooting option for Windows operating system and starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs don’t run in safe mode but only the basic drivers needed to start Windows can be loaded. Therefore, it’s an excellent way to troubleshot or fix the problem when it’s impossible to start your Windows system normally. To start your Windows 7 system into safe mode, you can follow the steps below.

1. Turn on or restart your computer.

2. Keep tapping F8 key to enter Advanced Boot Options as shown below

If you cannot see the Advanced Boot Options screen, you may miss the opportunity to hit F8 key before Windows 7 loads. If so, you need to restart your PC and do it again.

3. Use arrow keys to move up or down to highlight the safe mode you want your system to boot. And then hit Enter key.

With the steps above, you should be able to boot your Windows 7 system into safe mode easily. However, if you have any question or problem during this process, please start a new topic in our Windows 7 Forum or leave a comment below.
