How to Turn on or off the Language Bar (Input Indicator Icon) in Windows 8.1

It is known that if you select several languages as the input language in Windows 8.1, you may see the Input Indicator icon is on your Taskbar. If you want to swift it off or on the Input Indicator icon in your windows, you can follow the instruction below, which will guide you step by step on how to perform this.

How to Turn off Input Indicator icon in Windows 8.1

Step 1: Go to Control Panel by typing “Control Panel” in the search bar of the Charm bar

Step 2: Click Language and you will get the following window

Step 3: Click Advanced settings, which is on the left side of the window.

Step 4: Choose Use the desktop language bar when it’s available, which is displayed under Switching inputs method.

Step 5: Please click Options, which is next to Use the desktop language bar when it’s available. And you will get the following box.

Step 6: Please choose the state of your language bar on your wish and click OK.

Method one: if you select the option “Foloating on Desktop”, the language bar will be displayed in this way, which is showed on the following shotscreen:

Method two: if you choose Docked in the Taskbar and tick Show additional Language Bar icons in the taskbar, the following shot screen will appear:

Method three: if you want to hide the Language Bar, you can select Hidden and deselect Use the desktop language bar when it’s available.
