Instructions to Check for Available Wi-Fi in Windows 8

Just like other operating systems, Windows 8 allows you to connect to a wireless network under the situation that you have installed a Wi-Fi card. However, the way of how to connect to the wireless network is a little different from other operating systems, which may confuse lots of Windows 8 new users. If you don’t know how to check the available Wi-Fi, please read the following steps and learn now.

Step 1: Go to the Windows 8 Start Screen and open the “Settings” charm


Step 2: Click on the wireless icon to display a list of Wi-Fi networks available to you. The wireless icon is located directly above the “Notifications” icon. In addition, this icon will say “Available” if you are not connected to a Wi-Fi network.


Step 3: select a network from the list, and click “Connect”. Type your password to connect.
